🧭 How to Choose the Right Accommodation in the Seychelles?

“Every traveler is unique. What feels like ‘paradise’ to one person can feel boring to another.
Here are the keys to making the right choice for you.”

🏨 The 5 Types of Accommodation Experiences

🏝️ Luxury / Private Islands Ultimate luxury and total disconnection. Private beaches, gourmet restaurants and a dedicated butler anticipating your every need.
🏢 Large Resorts International-standard comfort, multiple restaurants and full facilities (pools, spa, activities, kids clubs and family areas).
⭐ Boutique Hotels More intimate, with personalized service. Ideal if you want comfort without cooking, with on-site dining at reasonable prices.
🏡 Villas & Self-Catering Freedom and space. Perfect for families or controlled budgets. Manage your own meals, enjoy local restaurants and takeaways, and live at the local pace. This is often the most economical option and offers the most indoor space for families.
🏠 Guesthouses The Creole soul. Authentic family-run accommodations hosted by locals.

🍽️ Half Board

Say YES if: Your hotel is isolated (e.g. Four Seasons, Ephelia, Lemuria), you plan to eat full meals at the hotel (which can be expensive), you don’t have a car, or you want total relaxation in the evenings without searching for restaurants.

Say NO if: You stay in Beau Vallon (Mahé), Anse Royale (Mahé), Côte d'Or (Praslin), Grand Anse (Praslin) or anywhere on La Digue, OR if you have a car. The abundance of restaurants and takeaways offers more freedom and is usually cheaper. Also say no if you only plan to eat one dish per meal — it’s often more economical than half board.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Traveling with Family

In the Seychelles, “paradise” does not always mean “kid-friendly”. Some accommodations focus on absolute tranquility. Choose properties with a Kids Club (such as Constance Ephelia) or opt for Villas for greater flexibility.

Standard rooms usually allow only one extra bed. Accommodation suitable for families of four or more is limited and sells out quickly, especially the most attractive options. Book early.

⚠️ Note: Kids Clubs often accept children from age 4. Only Club Med on Sainte Anne Island offers a Baby Club for children under 4.
